History

Linwood, Chris and Keith are graduates of Rutgers Law School Camden. After graduating from law school Linwood, Keith and Chris were selected as Fellows with Rutgers Law Associates. Rutgers Law Associates is a program of Rutgers Law School serving the general practice legal needs of low to moderate income residents of New Jersey. Upon completing the fellowship in August 2019 they decided to form a law firm, starting Donelson, D’Alessandro & Peterson in September, 2019. In April, 2024 DDP hired our fist Associate Attorney, Dominic Cottone.

Linwood H. Donelson III, Esq.

Linwood Donelson graduated from Rutgers Law School in 2016 after graduating from Richard Stockton University in 2013 with a degree in Political Science. While at Rutgers, Linwood participated in the Civil Practice Clinic and Child and Family Advocacy Clinic where he had the chance to advocate for clients under the supervision of professors as a third-year law student.

After graduating from Rutgers, Linwood worked for a non-profit in Bridgeton before joining the Rutgers Law Associates program where he was able to assist low to moderate income clients in a variety of legal matters. Additionally, Linwood is very active in his community. He previously served on the Lower Alloways Creek School Board. He currently serves as the President of the Salem County Special Services and Vocational Technical Schools Board of Education.

Linwood works as a general practitioner, but has a focus in local government law, family law, and education law. Linwood is a member of the bar of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the Federal District Court of the District of New Jersey.

Christopher J. D’Alessandro, Esq.

After graduating law school in May, 2018, Chris completed a Fellowship at Rutgers Law Associates, Rutgers Law School Camden providing legal services to low to moderate income residents of New Jersey. Chris primarily practices civil ligation including domestic violence advocacy, family, employment, and administrative law. Chris also provides consultation on matters pertaining to law enforcement, probation, parole, and corrections.

Prior to his legal career Chris gained over 20 years of experience in law enforcement, community corrections and related fields. Chris retired from the New Jersey State Parole at the rank of Lieutenant in 2015. After retirement, Chris was employed with the Camden County Police Department from May 2016 to October 2017, as community corrections liaison where he performed a wide range of functions related to parole, probation, and corrections. Chris is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (Class 247), a NJ Certified Public Manager, and in addition to his legal training, possesses extensive training in law enforcement, community corrections, and military operations.

Chris is a Major in the New Jersey Army National Guard serving as a logistics officer, and a veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.

Chris has been a law enforcement officer and a soldier. He’s “been there and done that” and knows what warriors go through when they return to “the job” after deployment. Chris is deeply interested in protecting the rights of reserve component service members employed by state, county and local government agencies.

Chris resides in West Chester, Pennsylvania with his wife and children. In his spare time he plays guitar, does metal detecting, and enjoys running to stay fit.

Keith A. Peterson

Keith Peterson graduated Cum Laude from Rutgers Law School in May 2018. After law school, Keith was accepted to the Rutgers Law Associates Fellowship Program, where he worked under the supervision of Professor Andrew Rothman, Esquire in a variety of areas of law. In October 2018, Keith was admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey. Since being admitted, Keith has handled cases in family law, immigration law, landlord tenant, commercial law, contract law, property law, and criminal law and appeared in court dozens of times. He also has academic experience working with employment law and constitutional law. Keith is admitted to the Federal Bar and has managed cases before the New Jersey District Court and the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Keith was born into a working class family from South Jersey. He grew up in Atlantic and Cape May county. Keith’s father is a professional scuba diver and explorer, and his mother works with special needs children. Keith graduated from Ocean City High School in 2006 where he swam, rowed crew, and participated in art club. During and after high school, Keith worked for the City of Ocean City. Later, Keith graduated from Stockton University with a B.A. in criminal justice.

Between college and law school, Keith traveled extensively; visiting eight countries in South East Asia, where he lived out of a back pack for three months, then Turkey, Mexico, Alaska, and Iceland. Keith is a certified scuba diver and professional rescuer. His interests include philosophy, economics, travel, and punk rock.

Dominic Cottone, Esq.

Dominic Cottone graduated from Villanova Charles Widger School of Law in 2021. Dominic also holds degrees in History,
Political Science, and Sociology from Villanova.

Dominic’s work at Donelson, D’Alessandro & Peterson focuses on family law, including domestic violence matters, divorce,
child support, custody and parenting time. Dominic is also experienced in Wills, Trusts, and handling Estate Administration procedures.

In his spare time, Dominic can generally be found enjoying time with his family and friends, or watching his Houston Texans on Sundays!
